taking material off the mag mating surface face is an interesting solution. An easy machining job, and there's plenty of material to make up for whatever u lost lapping the taper. nice idea. in other news my bike is running great!

While it might work, you should at least recognize that it is a bodge. Rather than a proper repair, it's deliberately messing up a perfectly good component in order to compensate for having accidentally messed up another component. It's the sort of "repair" that people complained about having been done to Vincents that were brought back from Argentina.

Max. It is impolite and outside forum rules to post such questions online. Some people prefer to remain anonymous to protect their identity.
