Hi there,

If he is still providing Cometic gaskets - Could someone let me have Paul Holdsworth's e-mail address please?

Many Thanks

Cometic will make any gasket for any bike/car/machine.
I sent them a complete BSA A10 paper gasket set and they sent it back to me along with Cometic Nitrile/Al reproductions. Cost was about $200 US iirc. That included a couple of Vincent gaskets as well.
Once they have copied a gasket shape, they keep that shape on file and are able to make more very easily.
They don't seem to charge any setup fees as it is in their best interest to develop a large computer file of gasket drawings.
Very good company to deal with.
But the easiest thing for Vincent owners is to order through Paul.

Yes, on the primary. Cometic already had the pattern in their files.

I am puzzled. A Commando primary drive has an O-ring seal, so no need for a gasket. All the earlier Nortons used a big rubber band, which could not readily be replaced with a Cometic. So what Norton???

Highbury asked
" so what Norton"

Mk3 850 electric start. It uses a gasket and 10 fasteners. No leaks, even before the Cometic went on. In fact it's always been a totally dry bike, no different than the modern bikes it sits beside.
Maybe they finally had things figured out just as time ran out.
