Gents,

I am aware that a lot of you follow Vincent racing, in any form, from all over the world.

Having read various articles about Vincent successes from Australia, America, England and The Isle Of Man over the last few weeks, I thought I would start a conversation to publicize and promote other Vincent teams which are campaigning in the near future:

Brighton Speed Trials - Sussex, UK. At least one egli always competes.

Goodwood Revival - Sussex UK. Usually a couple of Vincents in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.
Can be watched live and online. https://www.goodwood.com/flagship-events/goodwood-revival/

Kop Hill Climb - UK
Half a dozen Vincent's registered.

Please feel free to add to the list....

Consistency. He got two awards and Champion will have the details. Roy's runs had little spread in elapsed times. I don't have the exact figures available but Roy was timed at 140 mph at the end of the standing start half mile while the two fastest bikes were doing just over and just under 173 mph over the finishing line. However they were turbocharged or supercharged nitrous breathing modern monsters which you could not have ridden round a track. Roy's bike is essentially a road race bike. Incidentally the fastest bikes trashed the times of the fastest cars, again!!

Forget GOODWOOD - The Horner (Australian) prepared Vincents have NOT been invited back - apparently they were TOO GOOD!!!

I am off to Goodwood this weekend (No I'm not that flush someone gave me tickets) of course I will go by bike (I must pass six miles of cars in the queue) I am always sad that the VOC has not made a good connection with the event. There are always some fringe motorcycle 'groups' invited to parade around grounds and circuit. Unfortunately though they try the organisers seem very out of touch with two wheel social groupings and hierarchy. With all the contacts of the VOC we must have someone with influence who could educate them. As an invited club it would be a grand weekend event

Look for local Vancouverite Dale Baston, who will be there, I'm sure you will able to pick out an unknown face in the crowd!!

I will be there on Friday assisting the Robert Lusk Lightning replica which has just had one of the modified steering heads fitted, with 30 lbs/inch springs. Patrick Walker will also be there with his own twin racer, also with the modified steering head. At the moment the 30 lbs/inch springs seem quite firm on this stripped down bike so once I have feedback on that we can get on with ordering some springs for those who have already bought this modification. I will try to remember to wear my VOC name badge so please feel free to come up and chat.
