I really do not degree cams. I make sure that there is equal lift of both the intake and exhaust valve at 4-5 degrees BTDC. Everything else will take care of itself.

The directions I have from Terry are as follows;
Rear cylinder, Inlet Valve open .170'' at TDC , rotate engine 50 deg + 360 deg. Then the front cylinder Inlet Valve should be open .170''
Hope that makes sense?
I'll will be timing an engine in the next 2 weeks and I'll let you know how I fair.

This is in his words ( MK5 cam, they should be set at inlet opening at .170" lift at TDC )
