I have made the comment a couple of times that if I did write a detailed account of "what makes that Vincent go so fast" nobody would understand it anyway.

Never found that tunnel wear was an issue that a fresh good fitting alloy bush didn't deal with . Sid .

Never thought that the post I started on measuring compression ration would generate so much excitement and heat.
Thanks all for your thoughts.

This didn't take my comment I'll try again. Why in the world is Sid talking about tunnel sleeves after I have covered that in detail further back in this column? I don't get it

Well y'all could help me do something useful as I need to balance the "flywheel" on the Broaching Tool and then adjust the meantime screws for accuracy. Perhaps I'll get instructions for this from above.

Hi Rip, this reminds me of a saying I heard as an apprentice- The giggling pin snapped and dropped in the dicky dido chamber , swarf entered the woofle valve, a serious mechanical failiure was about to unfold. Regards, Roy.

All this reminds me of something, alas recalled only in part...

That rider of fame, Stanley Woods was his name,
with an engine, an ohc master.
"I want ye, says Stan, to tune if ye can,
me motor, to make it go faster..."

"So I take me hammer, me files and a spanner,
and set to, to work with a will.
I take out and feel, both timing wheels,
and generally show off me skill."
