It`s Trev who`s been making these gears for a long time now. The Yamaha gear became exorbitantly expensive.I doubt very much that Francois will promote purchasing a Yamaha part from another source, and I also doubt that Yamaha would suffer from a bad batch of anything, that is why they, and the other big three eclipsed the British motorcycle industry back in the day, quality control etc.
That`s a very early one.Accidents Happen

I need the lower Grosset (Yamaha) double sprocket/gear and the circlip for the sprag/electric starter, I am told it is a Yamaha part ?
Would anyone know the part number PLEASE or who has these parts, apparently the usual Gentleman does not have them.
Thank you. Kerry.
Thanks, looks a better idea than the round type ?
You could use one of these, but you have to grind a little material away for the lugs.
I think you are getting confused, the round circlip is the one on the drive gear on the starter motor, that is there to captivate the pieces if the shear pin breaks. The one I`ve just given you details for is the one that locates the sprag clutch on to the gearbox mainshaft. Thanks, looks a better idea than the round type ?
Can`t find it in Blogs or Forums ! Where have you hidden it ?
For my blog on how many ways you can break and fix the FG starter.
