KTM certainly has its issues.
One of the funniest (from the perspective of someone who does not own a KTM) videos I have seen this year is this:

Unfortunately its in german but if you look closely you can easily spot the problem. The factory installed one of the pistons the wrong way around.
Afaik the 790 engine is produced in China.

The one newer bike in my garage is a 2019 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701. Basically a KTM big single in street clothes. It is a perfect foil to my vintage bikes. 75 hp in a 350 pound package, starts on the button, brakes hard and looks, well, different. Quality seems to be very nice but definitely missing that old world charm.
