Looking to put a correct Miller 30E on the back fender.
I have two stamped Miller bodies to work with.
Interesting that the stamping can be found either direction.

The hardware found when disassembling is pictured here.

Black Shadow project required borrowing pieces from in progress twin......oil lines, tail light assembly, carburetors, throttle cables, etc.
New oil lines have been fabricated and installed , today was test for leaks .
All looks good, but stock vent hose does produce drops of oil at idle.

I blanked off the standard engine breather many years ago, and fitted one in the popular position of the ATD inspection cover, I think most standard breathers discharge a small amount of emulsified oil, not really surprising when you look at its pathway from the timing chest, there must be a fair amount of oil flying around in there, just waiting to escape.

To keep standard, Try sending the breather pipe upwards and over the top of the engine ?,
Then down, It sorted one we did,
But I find an oil breather on the front Ex tappet cover better.
Cheers Bill.

Miller 30E with badge
Interesting the stamping "No30E" is in opposite direction compared to pic above.
You would wonder whether the "lighthouse badges" are installed in different orientation.

This Shadow in progress should have a plain Miller No30E tail lamp, but i am working on an LED conversion for the original housing. I want the conversion to be reversible to OEM and my only need now is for female connectors to slide on the internal "flat tangs". I do not want to solder wires to these original tabs.

2 atc - 2 degrees after topdead centre (I think). Which may be something to do with valve timing. Maybe thats where the two lobes on the cams were equal lift?

R&M bearing is Ransom & Marles Bearing company in Newark, UK. The factory still exists and now owned by NSK bearings.

Std gearbox - standard gearbox.
