To restore your older original Vincent muffler s power carefully run an extention drill bit through the central spine passage . Generally a quarter inch bit will pass through it , but be aware that some are smaller , too tight to pass through . Some were larger through this passage and these were the faster ones . If blocked this reduced the entire through volumn .
Do not damage the spine tube or break it , just clear its passage of burnt oil and coke . Sid .

Be aware that the old original Vincent mufflers is apt to be on the point of internal collapse from corrosion and thus blockage affecting the passage of the exhaust gases . Often such a blockage reveals itself as a blued outer shell over an appreciable area . Sid .
