SP: Spring Boxes (Rear) Petteford springs

At the risk of displaying my ignorance (yet again) I was always led to believe that all Petteford springs were sidecar only, the lighter ones being for singles and heavier for twins.
The Club Spares Company list Petteford springs as being available in both solo and sidecar strengths. I converted my bike many years ago, and cannot recall exactly what strength I used, I seem to remember fettling the spring claws so possibly went for sidecar strength as I am invariably two up with luggage (and fully sprung), I also put a cut down girdraulic fork spring down the middle of the Petteford spring, my thinking was it would come into effect when I was in danger of bottoming out, all I can report is it seems to have worked ok for the last 30 odd years, the same spring boxes have been used with both a KONI and AVO rear dampers.
I did consider an AVO coil over, but then remembered the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
