What I forgot: If all the cars would be elelctric we have not enough powerstations to deliver all this electric power! We would need six times more powerstations to have electricity for ten percent of our cars here in Germany! Is Britain so much different in this way? ERik

We do not have the power stations or the charging infrastructure. One plans is to drain the batteries of electric vehicles back into the mains grid at time of high comsumption. A great number of English houses are terraced with no off street parking. How are they supposed to charge their vehicles. I am in favour of a non poluted future but there is no plan that I have seen which could brng this into being by 2030, or probably even 2040 or later. Plus which, do we really want to be totally dependent upon one type of power for all our needs? Heating, lighting, transport. Who is going to control this monopoly and could they be trusted anyway. Paranoid? Well I don't recall ever saying that I am not paranoid.

I just hope these Clowns see sense, Before it's too late,
I like trees and birds etc , But this is too much !,
And the COST will be Huge !,, But the BIG Boys will make a lot of money, As Always !.
If some want electric , Fine, But as you say, It won't work for all,
I remember them saying we would run out of petrol by 1980 !!.

The trouble is nowadays politicians and scientists go from university to their narrow profession and have no real 'warming up' jobs, no one has experience outside their narrow specialisation thats why we get HS2 when everyone is on Zoom and electric cars when the technology exists to make petrol out of atmospheric C02 and hydrogen from solar power.I suppose Putin is doing one good thing the cost of fossil fuel is now more than zero nett carbon synthetic petrol.
The narrow view on life by specialists also means that the .gov has nothing but contempt for the public which is why through a mechanism that is kept secret our TV adverts are filled with 'nudge' themes like synthetic meat, people riding push bikes, driving electric cars , farms producing wild flowers instead of food. and other obvious things I wont mention

I am wondering what is the legal position if a pedstrian strides onto a pedestrian crossing without looking at the traffic, and there is a collision involving a motor vehicle or cyclist

I wonder if the new rules regarding the passing of push bikes by a wide margin will apply to the car driver who passes me riding my 1925 Douglas belt drive or come to that the push bikers who sometimes overtake me...
Here I must admit sometimes sliding the throttle lever a bit anti clockwise to pay the following local Tour de France a return complement
NB does anyone have a record of enforcement of a 20mph town limit on pushbikes?
