Hi
The site doesn't "remember me" and I have to re log in when switching forums. Is it me and how do I fix it?

Remember Me...

I'm pretty much sure it must be a problem at your end, as I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue.

When I'm using this side of the form (rather than the administration part) the website certainly remembers me without any problem.

Have you got cookies enabled on your computer? That's the first thing to check.

If the answer is yes, if you could let me know your computer/browser configuration and I'll 'try' to help!

Same here, I have to keep logging in when I switch forums (fora?) and also if I refresh. Idiot's guide required from someone who understands this electric abacus !

Help with Remember Me

OK, so 'remember me' doesn't seem to work for some people.

I know it does for me (but then again, I use an Apple Mac and everyone knows that they're far superior anyway )

Let's turn the question round - does 'remember me' work for anyone else, and if so, what system are you running (ie operating system and browser version).

When I joined this Forum.
My name and password was saved and I could get onto the forum without having to sign on every time which the case now.

Works for me, both at work with Firefox on a Dell Win XP, and at home with Safari on an iMac. With Firefox, I have cookies disabled except for the sites I specifically allow, which I did for this site, of course.

I have to log in with my User name and password each time I want to enter the Forum, doesn't seem like too much hassle??
Its quite feasible that its me thats not doing something right..........

has changed, not a problem but it no longer remembers me.
When I type the first letter of my name It then remembers who I am.

Remembers me (at home and work) using IE7 and WIN XP.

Have never had to sign in after initial sign up.

The same with me; the site never remembers me. Using IE7, XP, cookies enabled. Other sites do well remember me. Is it my fault?

Remember Me Issue...

I have been reliably assured by the writers of the forum software that as some people are having trouble and others aren't, there isn't a problem with the forum software.

If you're still having trouble, try the following...

1. Clear your cookies on your browser;
2. Clear your temporary cache/temporary internet files;
3. Restart your browser.

If you were having trouble, try these steps, then let us know how you get on.

Has there been any progress in the problem of some subscribers logging in successfully, and others not ?
I repeat my request for a beginner's guide. Computer users have a habit of assuming a certain level of competence in computer matters, for example Graham's advice a few posts back to "clear your temporary cache". I have no idea what he is talking about !

Dick,
When you log in tick the "remember me" box, then as long as you do NOT log out you will be able to go to another website ie the Zumo forum and when done you can go back to this forum and you won't have to log in again, works for me

Now off to look at the Pan European forum

Hi .I logged on tonight.the system said 'hello NKT267' but would'nt let me into the forum.Using the same logon I got into my profile entered my current password,reset my password to the same as my current one(old age? stops me from remembering new ones) and the system let me in.It can be as vague as the missus.
