First ride 2022

First ride 2022, the warmest January 1 ever measured in Holland, 15 degrees Celcius! (59 Fahrenheit?). Lots of motorbikes on the road. The Laverda was closer to the garage door than the Rapide, that's why.

My choice was between Black Shadow and MZ 250. Guess which one won. Ideal conditions for a nice 50 mile blat round the back lanes. Cheers, Stu.

-29c, with a wind chill of -41c here. Motorcycles covered up, battery tenders hooked up. The heated seats and heated steering wheel of our Toyota Rav4 are not a luxury.

Today, 3 January, another "warm" January day, 11 degrees Celcius, for now the last dry day, from tomorrow rain and maybe snow. Today I rode the Rapide, unfortunately because of the strict corona lockdown all pubs are closed in Holland. In the background one of the Dutch Unesco Sites, the windmills of Kinderdijk. Until 2 years ago, before the corona, you could walk over the Chinese heads at this spot 365 days a year, but today we counted only 3 heads from China.

Robert, you must be living in the banana belt of the Northwest. Just south of the border it was -20C and with a bit of elevation more than 2' of snow. The Fraser river outflow left drifts 3-4' deep. To say the least, the Vincent stable has been quiet. Spring is in the air as is the new ATD to install soon in the Shadow.
