The best view of Ted is the series he wrote in MPH under the title "one mans memories" he wrote them all through the mid seventies I have been recently re-reading them. There is also a Classic Bike article 1980 about his 10 years at the factory

The number of times l have passed Cromer Mill and had no idea!! See what you mean about the thread, squirrels around a bit but does not really give much on where ted came from, trained and seemed to be somewhat minted as a londoner would say, however an amusing read whilst enjoying a very good malt, thank you very much Oldhaven!

Ted Davis stayed at Vincents after bikes stopped with the development of the Amanda water scooter and industrial engine. Then Borg Warner open a new plant in Letchworth Ted got the job as development engineer and Paul Richardson as his assistant,

Dan Thomas also worked at Borg Warner after leaving Vincents, believe other Vincent employees also.

Borg Warner closed the Letchworth plant in 1969 moved to Wales UK, Ted Davis retired to doing Vincent Bike business from his Home.

Furness & Searle started there Vincent repair business in Cromer Nr. Stevenage, in 1970 and sold out to Bob Culver in 1990, as Jack told me last year they always had to much work, they did work also for Ted Davis,

Thanks for the replies, interesting positions at BW for ted and paul, clearly the BW tech people l was working with could not have come from Letchworth as the dates don't mix, getting off topic here, any tales about Ted Hampshire another name that crops up many times?
