Fabricating new cables for Mk1 928 w/Amal 313 dual throttle

20230211_928CableSetwDualT313.jpg

I have not made up cables in years.
Where is the cable dimension diagram to put 928 Amals on a Amal 313 dual throttle?
and chokes on a dual lever classic Amal handle bar levers?
Thank you for any help on this
Craig

Dual throttle cables routed on each side of the UFM.
Dual choke cables routed on each side of the UFM.

I don't think twin pull throttles were ever fitted standard and certainly not Concentrics so there probably isn't a diagram.
A problem often encountered when fitting Concentrics is clearance for the front cable coming out of the carb top (tank cutaways vary), there's certainly no room for adjusters.
I have tapped my carb top 6mm and bent a stainless tube threaded on the end with a more than 90 degree bend followed by a 45 degree bend to take it to the UFM and then parallel to it.

How about a cable dimension sheet on a Comet with Amal 930 or 932.
Cables routed around left side UFM?

Would like specific procedure for soldering the brass hollow fitting to a Vincent Spares HB5AS throttle cable please.
I have all the general instructions - make a "bird cage" end, clean all, flux all, dip in solder pot for 10 seconds, let air cool, file to fit.

Dipping in solder pot will not work for this fitting.
I am looking for the specifics on this hollow brass drilled fitting please.

What is the mechanical prep prior to solder?

I hammer something like an awl or nail through the center of the ring to spread the cable. Then soldering it.Erik

This set is a bit pricey, but you can make something similar.

You can probably find a YouTube video of someone using this tool.

A solder pot and the correct flux make a world of difference.

I will never use those little tins of paste flux again after trying this stuff.

I was trying to see (in that video) if the slots for the cables are round… as in drilled. I used a drill and ended up with a banana shaped hole. Necr time… assuming there is a next time, I would be tempted to mill V notches on either side and just drill the countersink for the drift.
