That's an interesting comment. I, like many others, am running a duplex timing chain (Mercedes spec.) as a replacement for my Commando triplex primary chain. I have read that this is a common thing for Laverdas, too and these chains are reported to be totally reliable, as well as being lighter.
Have triplex chains (of car timing chain spec.) been used in Vincents, I wonder.

Running 48t which is fine not breaking any speed records just b roads gearing seems dead on, have a 50t
Which I think was a sidecar puller..

I found 54 was best with Trials sidecar (road use) so with conventional third wheel 50 may be too high
