What I lack is Keenness, I wish you could buy a bottle of it !, And Money.
I get it in Fits and Starts !, I said Starts !.
When I think of the hours we spent in a small shed, And the bikes we built.
My conditions are better now, But I have run out of steam.
Cheers Bill.

Looking back on this thread I seem to have sorted most of my then worries. I now have a quick, very good handling Road Comet with electric Start and a comfortable riding position (Yamaha XT175 alloy bars). Its something I can use into my dotage I hope. Its down at the moment for top end sorting either a valve oil seal or some new rings are required, everything else looks OK I have my ancient refurbished BTH to be refitted and my quest is now more weight reduction. I have a alloy rear brake plate in the cupboard its painted in what passes for Grey Flash grey (who knows?) so that RH rear plate, drum and all that brake linkage levers and shafting can go back in the store, and I will look for the top of a tin to cover the RH bearing and a couple of corks for the brake shaft tunnel in the RFM. I have a few goodies from the racing Comet I have not yet fitted and some 1/2 BSF hex alloy bar to knock up a few nuts. Does anyone have a target weight figure for a road equipped Comet with passenger provision (std seat & footrests)?
