I am asking after a Vincent motorcycle called Big Ed.

It was on display of Deprose Motorcycles window in the 1960s.

Owned by South Londoner Terry Hart and used in the Solvol Autosol adverts because of it's Chrome and shine.
Terry sold it to Deeprose's I believe, when his interest turned to American cars. I met Terry a couple of times, and subsequently his widow. She wasn't sure which he loved the most; the bike or her.
I was once in touch with an owner of it in Essex [who said he owned it, but I never saw it; probably Early/Mid' 1980's?]
