Fair enough. However, it is "ET-like" in that the low-ish voltage is generated in the simulated KVF housing which is then sent to the remote HT coils. "Low-ish" because if it is a true CD system it sends a few hundred volts, instead of ~ten volts, to the external coils.This page on the BT-H site says it is a Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI), not an Eternal Trouble(ET) system.
But, even though it makes me perhaps the only person on earth who defends it, I love the ET system. A good ET system is as good as a good magneto. But, it's easier for an owner to screw up an ET system (as is also the case for magnetos) than it is to screw up a rotor/stator system, so it does have that weakness.
