My series D shadow seat cover is a little scruffy and I'd like to replace it. Having said that I've seen series D seats that are different to mine in that they seem to have a strap across the rear half, possibly as a pillion hand hold whereas mine is 100% plain front to back. Can anyone confirm what the seat cover should look like please and then where is best to source a correct replacement? Thanks in anticipation...:)

The original 'D' seats did not have any straps or even any sculptured shapes. Just plain smooth from front to rear. However, if you do not care about originality, there are better shaped seats about. Not all 'D; seats are the same construction. Some are built over a solid sheet of steel while others are built on a series of steel strips.

I had mine redone by https://www.rk-leighton.co.uk/.

It was very well done, if possibly a bit taller than some I've seen on the forum. You don't get to see a lot of open D's in person in this country. It didn't have any straps originally and still doesn't, and it's not sculptured at all.
