I started collecting my bits for a Series 'A' back in 1966 or 1967 after a Stevenage rally on my Steib outfit going over to Norfolk to a gent called Tony Fox-Male and bought a frame lower half of an engine with fly wheel assembly, oil tank, a lot of old valves, rockers, pins in plastic coating new collets guides, gearbox, and collected a bit every chance I had.
Last year got it running after Bill Parr put it together Peter Barker letting me have a rear pivot assembly in aluminium was when it looked like it was going to be something.
THE TWO SETS OF STEEL PLATES ON THE LEFT WERE HEAVIER THAN THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY ON THE RIGHT
