Well I put on the elephant trunk and rode the bike to work today. So far so good. A very small amount of milky condensation comes out but that's it. Oil out of the lifter mechanism is reduced substantially as well. I dunno where the D cap I have is from but it seems obvious it had nowhere near the capacity to handle the breathing this engine requires. That must be why the trunk was bought for this bike in the first place 2 owners ago. Neither of the last 2 owners rode it much so I suppose that is why it was never installed. I'm happy with the result.

That is a nice result. I would suspect that the D set-up was not well thought out for your bike.

My experience is that the stock lifter oil seal works as long as the cable is left really slack so it is not pulling on the plunger.
