Implosion

On a journey into town we pass 4 Churches , 3 are boarded up and no longer used , 1 is a Cafe / Pub ( with the Demon Drink !!! )
These 3 Churches have in ones own opinion " Imploded " in that the congregation / members died off ( I.E us " Baby Boomers " ) and there was no one to fill the void.
See where this is going ?
The Club , maybe 5 - 10 years down the line COULD go the same way IF no action is taken.
IT is MY opinion that the Club should go back to the 50`s and 60`s and sections should organise events such as a skittles night , chip supper ,quiz night , etc and get the younger generation involved.
After 53 years of being in the Club I would kike to thank all ( good and bad ) for such a wonderful time.
A special thanks go to Tim Kirker , Ian Savage , Adrian Catell ( never could spell proper )
GOODBYE.
Alan.

It's still 'clubby'. Ever since joining I've said these non-de-plumes don't help us know just who in the hay is doing the talking and finding out about the availability of specialist parts is just as difficult as ever.

USA distances don't help hearing about new items. The forums and jtan (at least for a while for me) tend to make up for the distances, but it requires keeping up with the flow of information. If another interest comes along and occupies one's time, a Vincent gem could be missed.

Is jtan still operating?

That's the reason I've lobbied for decades to have the MPH produce an annual "What's New" article to inform the membership of all those little goodies, and major products that are being worked on by the Vincent faithful. It is only within the last day or so I've ever seen a photo of the Bob Dunn starter and never had an idea of what it took to install it or what it costs. That's just one example, and there are several annually.

If you can successfully negotiate this forum, then I would humbly suggest that you could negotiate your way through the Whitikapedia condensation of articles which has information on the likes of the Bob Dunn starter and the articles which I recall you writing yourself. :)

Actually I've never used the Whitkapedia resource and just took a look at it, very informative and sure glad someone has directed me to it. In fact, it reminds me I should research one of my own old articles on the kickstarter and an attendant modification that eliminated the broken case syndrome if one is too harsh on the kicker itself. An engineer friend assisted me in coming up with a stop attached to the G50 that has been in use for about 20 years now. I did find a bit on the Dunn electric start and now realize it requires a chaincase mod, extension, I didn't know about. Bob's name in the industry is a well respected one and I was interested to see what he came up with. Thanks for the direction. Wish I could say thanks Mr. so and so, but Pushrod Twin shall have to do. Ah, the non de plumes, we all have our glitches and in 30 years of publishing auto racing books, newspapers they weren't allowed under my watch. "Oh, everyone knows who One Track is." Right. I didn't and being in the US had no way to figure out who he was. Then again, in this country, the Lone Ranger sure was successful but at least we knew his pal's name (Tonto) and his horse, "Hi-Yo Silver, Away!! I helped some character put a distributor in an English car one time on one of my rides through the British countryside, and when he asked who I was, I left and gave the Lone Ranger salutation. Hadn't thought about that one in years.

I don't think we need to worry about the demise of the VOC, As soon as ano domini drops horders and speculators off the coil and the prices drop to a more accessible level so then Vincents will continue. Supply of a CO2 neutral fuel will need co-operation of 'petrol' head organisations and of course parts will mean support groups. One only needs to see the number of horse clubs, steam enthusiasts and yacht clubs to worry about obsolete transport clubs
