Levi won one race and came 2nd in two others on the Godet Vincent . He said the bike is great to ride . A real credit to Patrick keeping the Vincent name alive
I did the French rally some years ago with Christine sleeping under a hedge as my 3 phase Alton had gone PUFF so battery on charge, blagged a ride with Arthur Farrow to Patricks factory premises -wonderfully clean. Norman & Roger Lord working on their Vincent elevated on one of the work benches, feeling the weight between new Aluminium & Magnesium crankcases, out standing stuff. Met Patrick again last year at the French in the Jura Mountains with his sidecar outfit which he can comfortably sleep in. Engages with all and sundry explaining different aspects of some of his new build and restorations, I thought then what other professional Vincent dealer/ builder/restorer attends rallies after a few years of going into Vincent business; Doug Hollis is the only one that springs to mind.
Recently went over with Harvey and a couple of mates to take his Lightning Replica & "B" Rapide for fettling by Patrick's work force, workshop still immaculately clean with many more manufactured items , new 500cc crankcases in either aluminium or magnesium, Grey Flash parts, too many to recall with 5 & 6 speed boxes.
Can any one think of some one who's promoted the HRD Vincent marque more than Patrick ? Why is he not an Honorary member, I propose him, any one second it ?
