I have Partick's 2004 Stafford Show bike. It has a plate clutch which has always been run dry. It is a Kawasaki unit I believe. It has never given any trouble but occassionally in the past has squealed badly on take up. A strip and clean of the plates has always cured the squeal. Recently while preparing the bike for this year;s riding, a clean of the plates did not clear the squeal.
I seem to recall that the plates (plain and friction) can be wiped over with a lubricant to improve quiet take up. What I can't remember was which lube
What is the best, engine oil, or automatic transmission fluid, or something else?
Thanks in advance
