Ray, I was hoping you would say you had just done work that needed footrest moving,
Let hope it's something simple,
A lot of us like the Paul Richardson book,
I think it tells you about the footrest problem.

I had a look at Mikes Videos , I could not find a bit about him taking the gear selection cover off,
But I think it's good information on other Vin' Stuff.

Maybe I have never had it because I use the rear foot rests :) ,

My g61 has two 90 degree tabs that aren’t depicted in the diagram, those were what was responsible for my gear lever not returning in 3rd and 4th. After I bent them out of the way a bit it seemed to resolve. And yes, I did adjust as much as I could before making the adjustment.

many thanks to all those good hinds!!!... - just had the new wheels installed and as soon as they were on, I untied the footrest nuts a bit, and voila... - gear change came back as before, so working perfectly again!!!
So many thanks for your help in that matter!
