I have been told at a VMCC meeting that the Esso supreme E5 which for those in central England has been a source of ethanol free petrol ever since the death of free choice at the pumps is joining the rest of the poisoned brands this autumn
Can anyone substantiate this?

Must be new legislation then as the measurement of ethanol content was measured on total output of refinery not at the pump so they just juggled the %
I have found this on the web so amongst all the snake oil talk it is true:( at least I wont have to drive round looking for Esso stations anymore as they will all be selling the same crap

Our Synergy Supreme+ 99 petrol has more cleaning power than our regular petrol – and includes molecules engineered to reduce friction in your engine and help moving parts work more efficiently.**
We currently supply an ethanol-free Synergy Supreme+ 99 unleaded in some parts of the UK. From September 2023 our Synergy Supreme+ 99 will transition to contain up to a maximum of 5% ethanol at all Esso pumps irrespective of which part of the country they are located. The labelling at our pumps will remain as E5 for Synergy Supreme+ 99 unleaded.

No Super 95 or 98 available in UK ? I believe when no E is shown, like in E5 or E10 , the companies will not add any alkohol into the fuel - as they are not required to do so. So when there is Super 98 you will be quite safe not to get any ethanol as it is more expensive to add than all-gasoline. And companies are not stupid and go for more profit then.

Sorry, sort of postings crossing, but even so . . .

Dear Brian,

Thank you for contacting Esso Customer Care and for your interest in our Esso Synergy Supreme+ petrol.

Esso Synergy Supreme+ petrol has up to 5% ethanol in North of England, North Wales, Scotland, Devon and Cornwall.

Currently in other areas of the UK, Esso Synergy Supreme+ petrol may be ethanol free at Esso branded petrol filling stations that are normally supplied directly from an Esso terminal. However, please note that from September 2023 our Synergy Supreme+ 99 will transition to contain up to a maximum of 5% ethanol at all Esso pumps irrespective of which part of the country they are located.

If you still wish to know your closest Esso branded petrol filling station that is normally supplied directly from an Esso terminal with ethanol free Esso Synergy Supreme+ petrol please provide us with your postcode.

No guarantee is made that Esso Synergy Supreme+ petrol sold at these sites will be ethanol free at all times.

Kind regards,

Sarah
