I will soon be going on a trip through Europe of around 5000 miles, I'm going on my Rapide and taking about three weeks.
What spares should I take in addition to a mobile phone and a credit card?
Thanks in advance
Peter Sprot.

There's a section in "know thy beast" which talks about what to take - have you a copy or I can type it in for you?

I'd also take VOC members telephone numbers who can help in an emergency.

Thanks Stuart,
I've just had a look at know thy beast, I'll have to get a kick start spring, and a few cables. If I had a spare magneto I would take it. The one on the bike was refurbished 4000 miles ago so I pray it'll be alright. I'll also take my copy of the members list. (I'm going to Malta).

Hi,
There is a great supplement in this weeks Motorcycle News that covers touring holidays and the types of additional things to take you would not normally think about, latex gloves, small torch, cable ties, folded gaffer tape and the like.
Sounds like you will have a great article to write for MPH when you get back -when I did a big Europe trip a few years back (Kawasaki GPZ550H1) I took a small notebook and wrote a diary every day about the roads I had ridden, the things I had seen and the experiences I had had - when I got back I coloured the route onto a map and then put this on the wall - great talking point.
Have a great trip - safe riding.
Stuart
