Why is being low in VOC a good environmental choice?

Hmmmm I think that Laphroaig is very high in volatile organic compounds....Is it hard on the environment as well?

I regularly pat myself on the back for riding an old bike and not asking some smoke belching factory to make me a new bike. Or is it just parsimony?

I tried patting myself on the back and put my back out for 3 days...Luckily I had a bottle of volatile organic compound to take away the pain.
