Misc: Ignition Earthing brush thread thread

Hi
can someone tell me what thread the KVF magneto earthing brush hole is
I want to stop the armature rotating to press up the ATD
my guess is 5/16" cei
Its a long time since I timed a Lucas mag I have been spoilt by that BTH locking rod

5/16 BSF, use a bolt with a rounded end and FINGERS ONLY, don't forget to take it out and replace the brush and holder.

The thread on the acorn nuts is 1/2" B.S.F. as I recall just as a matter of interest.

Wouldn`t it not be better to stop rotating by holding the armature on the points side? Maybe converting an old pointsholder? This is not so fragile. Erik

This is so once you get the points in the right position providing enough friction so the armature doesn't move while you dash round the other side and tap the ATD on, not to hold it against tightening the unit in any way.
