PD: Primary Drive Dynamo sprocket engagement

I had a lathe session at a friend's place a couple of days ago. We mounted my ET202 eccentric dynamo adaptor sleeve eccentrically in a 4-jaw chuck, and removed 0.020" from the outside of the thin side.
With the thinned sleeve mounted around my Alton and the thinnest part at the bottom, it now gives 0.020" up-and-down movement of the primary chain. I think that is small enough, allows for a bit of chain fling, and so that solves the problem.
I had to file out the drive hole in the primary drive area, to allow the Alton to spin in its lowered position. Should I file a bit more to allow the steel ring ET164 to be re-fitted? Or what to do to fill in the hole a bit?
