I have assumed that the front damper on an open D is the same as the front damper on a C.
Am I correct?
I intend swapping out my rear coil over for an AVO unit with a front AVO damper to match?
Also front damper does this require the longer Eye bolts?

Thanks for all your help.

Just to make sure I understand the question correctly. Standard bikes and damper. 'D' uses Armstrong with longer eyebolts at bottom. 'C' uses Vincent dampers. If AVO are used then both C and D use the same damper and should use it with the long eyebolts.

Thanks Norman,
I intend to use the AVO front damper on the open D to match the AVO rear coil over.
Another question for you does your fantastic steering stem fit both C and D variants?
Thanks for all you help and fantastic work to make our bikes right.

Yes it does but is the 'D' an enclosed model? If open then no problems. If enclosed then the JE steering head fits but there might be a problem with the hydraulic steering damper kit. I can discuss the details if you have an enclosed model. Cheers
