At todays Kempton Park auto jumble

Whilst walking Kempton Park in the freezing cold this morning I happened upon this for £18K a quick look of the engine number puts it around 1949.

Not really, it was 25xx, next time I walked past it was gone.

That would be my guess, proper square tyres on it. The guy selling it wasn't around at the time and the fella minding the stall didn't know anything about it but the next time I walked past it was gone.

B Shadow chopped motor I'm told

I was provided with photos of the engine and mating numbers a few days ago and its a late 1949 series C Shadow chopped engine, not series B.
The deep vein timing cover is off a lot earlier engine.
