As for twin start pumps been there on the racers, done it, and got oil on my visor to prove it.:)
The next pump I fit will be as always nowadays be a single start but the plunger may be relieved at each end of the flutes (NB I must revisit that article) I know I always am amazed at the amount of wear on the flutes on a pump when I take it outo_O. Its a cause of concern I have done little about except buy a new set.

I didn't go to school much, But the day I did, They told me, If a thing works twice as fast, It will wear out in half the time !. Cheers Bill.

I have put a few hundred miles on the bike since getting it all back together. The timing chest is quiet. I discovered a small problem in the timing chest. The jet that feeds oil was partly blocked by small sliver of rubber. I don't know where that came from. I have only checked that jet once or twice before, maybe I will look at it more regularly now.
