PT: Exhaust Wrong exhaust

Hi everyone
I am looking at purchasing a 1952 comet
however this has a fishtale exhaust can anyone tell me if this is correct
previous owner has owned this bike 53 years

Not that I've ever heard...

I believe all postwar Vincents, Black Lightning / Grey Flash excepted, used the PT2AS spiral-baffle silencer - no fishtail to be seen. But not to worry, they're readily available at https://vincentspares.co.uk/ and elsewhere.

Now dare I mention one of the two grey flash road bikes had a Brooklands silencer (and of course that has a fish tail)
I think there is a picture in Bickerstaff

Yes I quite fancy a Brooklands silencer on my Grey Flash if I put it on the road since the current couple of events a year is not really supportable unfortunately although registered for the road I would have to change the gearbox end cover for a Royal oilfield kickstart cover
The Albion is such a sweet gearchange with the Newby clutch and belt drive I would hate to try and go back to a chain drive and electric foot and a battery and lights and .... no I dont think so.
