Ewart taps
I think it is the luck of the draw. I have one Ewart tap that doesn't leak on my Sunbeam, and one that does. I have one on a Rudge that doesn't leak.Both Vincent taps leaked, even when the tank was empty...
I must have used every method known to man, including re-corking, and changing the rivet for an expander screw, and the ones that leaked STILL leaked.
(Even worse are flat-slide taps).
Eventually I gave up, and went to (natural) gas taps called mini-ball valves, available with BSP threads, and under £4 each from Plumb World. End of saga...
