Hi
Any ideas what type of springs these are?
Could be sidecar type, changed when the bike was restored (C Rapide).
Any help appreciated.

Standard and sidecar springs are same length but s/c has thicker wire.
If these are the same wire gauge then the longer one is likely to be a 'Pettiford' spring, same poundage just longer to give a
better ride height for a fixed luggage frame for touring.

Thanks for the reply.
They appear to be the same length and gauge. Maybe they're both Pettiford springs.
The bike had a Steib sidecar for a few years and also a Craven luggage frame.

Solo springs are around 300 wire diameter........sidecar are around 320 to 325 or so........solo springs give a much softer ride.
