Misc: Oil Series D oil tank petcock

I am thinking about an oil petcock for my Rapide D.
Any suggestion welcome.

For what purpose, to stop it wet sumping? I petcocked the chain oiler, to enable me to a quick lube the chain every so often, a bit cheaper than the electronic Scottoiler, but not as convenient or efficient, I have that fitted on my Rapide, I might splash out on the Comet one day, but for now the petcock will do.

I wouldn't use a 'petcock' type valve unless it had a micro switch to cut ignition. You only need to forget once and ........ !
I have had non return valves on my Vins for years with not issues.

For the ignition cut tap, did you mean something like this?

My KSS sumps (Vincent Comet doesn't but I always pull it back on compression) I just have a tap on the tank with a curly worly spring key line to the clutch lever that has a small home at the end and clip the key line in to it
I cant get on the bike with the line there so I dont forget
I only need the line when parked at home
It also reduces the amount of Castrol R I loose on the garage floor.
