Spoke to Franc. Trento on Friday night. He says his tyres are not marked "Not for Highway Use". Cannot understand "tread separation" in the above comments. Check the 1950 Comet braking figures on ribbed AVON tyres.

yes, the Speedmaster Mk II is rated to 180 kph, so no issues there, it can go faster than the bike
