If you really want an o-ring to go with the old Lucas - which I´d do anyway - you don´t get a fat type. 2 mm cross section should do when faces are smooth enough to seal. You can put the o-ring into a simple chamfer on the mag case or chamfer the engine bore for it. No excuse to have oil leaks from there - and fine tuning the old mag by turning in longer slots is no question..
