The March 2022 edition of Café Racer Magazine featured the wife of Club Member Alp Sungurtekin - Jalika Gaskin-Sungurtekin and the 'California Twin Triumph' on the front cover.
The ‘California Twin Triumph’ was a special client project. It started from a pair of crankcases and numbers matching neck & frame castings. All sheet metal components and GP style struts/brackets were hand made from scratch. The fuel and oil tanks design reflect the pre war era - with edgier corners - not as rounded as those of the 1950s. Aerodynamic free hand progressive bend exhaust pipes, with GP replica megaphones. Lower clearances between fender and tire for higher speed. The factory frame castings/axle plates are connected with dom 1020 tubing, the improved lower/longer frame geometry is for high speed stability. The ‘British Racing Green’ and Ivory Elk leather upholstery colors, were chosen by the client. The bum pad is also specifically designed for this bike, to give the rider a lower tuck at higher speeds.
