I'm always fascinated by the valve gear when watching engines with exposed valve gear. I know that the valves accelerate as they open, remain open and stationary a very brief time, and then begin closing and come to rest on the seats without slamming. But they always look like they pop open and closed. I never get tired of watching to see if I can discern what's going on when. Always makes me smile. Thanks for posting.
