Calling all experts. I need to know the received wisdom regarding the fit of the eccentrics in the lower fork link. This is with the bottom link fitted with phosphor bronze bushes. Should the link fall under its own weight or should there be some slight resistance? Currently it is the latter. This is not a newly refurbished link. I have had to remove the fork legs for an unrelated reason. The link/eccentrics exhibit no sign of fore and aft wear and are fitted with grease nipples and have been greased regularly. However a very slight loosening of the spindle nut allows the link to fall under its own weight. These eccentrics were set up by a Vincent specialist, now retired.
