I had teflon/graphite Permaglide bushes in the prewar Guzzi for 30 000 km , no wear on stainless spindles at all. But now I had to bend back the girder after a seized front brake and will have IGUS J in all bushes. The great feature is I can turn up some in no time from rounds and line-ream after pressing in. Costs are minimal for rounds, if you don´t go for standard size bushes, top hat type or plain. No lube on these, flat plate material available for your axial specials . IGUS are on UK Ebay, but limited choice only. Problem today for assisting in exports are shipping costs to exotic places.

When having a girder job check in all planes and same sizes between spindle bores - a lengthy job, yes. So place the fork casting on parallels by the spindles for twisted faults and check for same distance front and rear spindles. Any defects will try to freeze up motions when long strokes are needed. Do same checks with upper casting of course.
