I have an aluminium petrol tank on my Rapide so the very convenient magnetic tank bag doesn't work. If I'm riding solo a small haversack without too much in it is OK. This is no good with a passenger and my wife will under no circumstances wear a haversack because as Vibrac mentions back ache is a problem. I've just bought a Yamaha with a tank bag that quickly clips on or off a fitting screwed to the petrol filler cap. This wouldn't work with a standard Vincent fuel tank but might be possible on the aluminium tank that has a cap mechanism that is fixed with several screws. To remove the bag you just pull the cord at the front to unlatch. (Arrowed.) I have a really good bag on the Ducati by (I think) Baglux. This has a substantial custom tank cover that remains on the bike and the tank bag itself is easily removed. I don't think that they do a bag for the Vincent tank. I did enquire some years ago about one for a Vincent but didn't follow it up. Maybe they might do a "universal" version.
