I have previously fitted two of Dave's stands and each time welded on extra lugs to take a padlock for added security. I am about to fit one to a '53 Rapide and realised it is not necessary to resort to welding, There is enough room on the right hand plate, rear of the stand pivot hole, to drill a 1/2" hole. I made a small bracket with a corresponding 1/2" hole and bolted it to the stand limit lug with a 1/4" countersunk bolt. this is an easy mod to do to an existing stand without affecting the paintwork unduly.
