HB: Handlebars Comet Voltage Regulator

Can anyone clear up what the majority of Comets have the standard smaller Miller style Voltage regular mounted on the Dynamo?

Others it seem have a unit mounted to the vertical frame piece, looks like a Lucas unit, why the different?

Standard was the Miller Regulator on top the Miller Dynamo. But many owners changed to Lucas E3L dynamos and needed to change the regulator too. Mounting it on the "rear cylinder" is an ideal location for Comets. Rubber mounted is preferable.

Personally, I have always stayed with the Miller dynamo and an electronic regulator inside the standard case. With fairly regular simple maintenance, it works for me.
