The problem is that if you have ribbed drums then there is not much space between the flange and the first rib. You will almost certainly not find a lock nut thin enough to fit there. If you have Rapide or Comet drums then there is plenty of space.

what you use, is what is known as half nuts , not cheap but available.
a useful addition to your library is a copy of the free catalogue from Las aerospace ltd WWW.lasaero.com full of loads of useful goodies for Vincent owners

I did not need anything but 1/4 bsf nuts on my ribbed drums when I fitted them last week as I said one nut needed a few strokes of a file on one flat just a minute casting imperfection if you wanted to fit locknuts I think you could. I belive they were Holder drums
