I cannot find a photo that either gets in close enough to let me see or would inspire me to believe it was right. So 'forum folks' let me know.

Should I have washers under the bolt head, under the nuts, under both or under neither.

Regards

Original was #413 1/4" internal serrated shakeproof washers under the nut, no others. (Same as used in the Twin clutch). With Shadow drums in particular, you would be hard pressed to get a conventional spring washer under the nut for clearance reasons.

Just a bolt and nut. nuts should not be able to turn on a ribbed rear drum using 1/4 bsf hardwear just done this on my 2020 had to file a few thou off one nut flat to get a good fit. I did cheat with locktite I found out racing that shake proofs or coils went West if you changed sprockets and also came loose

Make sure you use bolts and not set screws and use the star washers , always best to return to standard, check they are tight after use, obviously clean paint off mating surfaces otherwise a problem
