Even with a single paper base gasket the tension does relax slightly. It is very easy and can be done quickly. I use a ring and open end spanner and a 13/16 one works well, and about 10 or so inches long. You will find each nut will come down a bit less than the distance on a clock face from say 12 to one o'clock. I use a spring scale on the ring end of the spanner to be sure, but they generally always come down that much. Also I generally back each nut off and come up wit a "Rolling torque" rather than just applying more tension as the nuts are. Remember to only do each nut one at a time, don't back them all off together. Re-tighten the head bracket nuts, go over all the tappets while your at it, check for leaks from the inspection caps and the return oil lines and your all good to go. See you back here in 10 Minuit's ........ .Job done.................Cheers...............Greg.
Roy, My advice to you is very definitely Re-torque the heads. Even with a single paper base gasket the tension does relax slightly. It is very easy and can be done quickly. Back off the nuts securing the cylinder head brackets about a half to one turn, mark the cylinder stud nut next to the head with a small dot or line using a texter pen.
